Entree Menu Info

Our MREs are built with current production main entree flavors. We guarantee that there are a least 4 different main dish flavors in each 12 pack case we sell. Often there are more flavors within a case, but we guarantee 4 different flavors. The main entrees vary over time and below is a short list of possible entrees in a case. After the main dish entrees is a list of possible side dish pouches that could come in a case.

Chicken Entrees: Chicken Pesto Pasta, Grilled Chicken Breast, Chicken Tetrazzini, Chicken with Beans, Chicken Fajita, Chicken in Buffalo Sauce
Beef & Pork Entrees: Spaghetti, Chili Mac, Meatballs in Sauce, Beef Enchilada, Grilled Beef Patty, Meatloaf with Gravy, Beef Ravioli
Vegetarian Entrees: Chili with Beans, Cheese Tortellini, Vegetarian Lasagna, Jambalaya, Penne Pasta

We use only current main dish entrees and side dish compliments in our MREs. We cannot take requests for specific menu items, as the different menu flavors are produced at different times in conjunction with manufacture for the US military MRE needs.

What are MREs?

MRE's or Meals ready to eat are a full meal designed by the US military to feed troops in the field with a long term storage capacity. Today they are used for a multitude of purposes from disaster relief to hunting and camping trips. The great flavors and ease if use and long shelf life make them a perfect addition to any survival kit or bug out bag. No matter what emergency preparedness food you have stored (freeze dried, air dried, canned, bulk storage, etc.), having some Meals Ready to Eat makes sense. They are able to bridge the gap from right after a disaster to when you are able to stabilize your environment enough to be able to cook regular food.


Unique Packaging

They use a high strength pouch that allows the food to be sealed in the pouch and cooked without reopening the pouch and thus not letting oxygen back into the food. This is the same process used for many canned goods. The major difference is the pouch is considerably less bulky and lighter that a caned item. The MRE is sealed with all of the Moisture, and Gravy or Sauces incorporated in the entree. Making them not only very tasty, but none of the work with dried, or dehydrated foods.

Shelf Life

Standard MRE shelf life is 5-10 years, with proper storage. MREs will remain stable if kept in a dry, cool area, and not exposed to sunlight.

MRE Heating

MREs are able to be heated in a multitude of ways. The most common would be to boil the pouch in water (approx. 3-5 Minutes). They can also be inserted in Military MRE Heaters that generate heat through a chemical reaction by adding water to the packet. They can also be heated by placing near a heat source( radiator, auto engine, direct sunlight with dark background, etc., being careful not to melt or burn the pouch from too hot a heat source.

The pouch is made with a metal lining, so do not put in a microwave. You can heat the meal in a microwave after removing from the pouch.

Meals Ready to Eat can be eaten right out of the pouch at room temperature, but if time and tools allow they are a great meal when heated.

They have been in this business for over 20 years. There are a lot of fly by night companies that get in this business during disasters, but the vendor we work with has a great reputation in the survival market.
